This video was actually a hit back when it was made. Looking back on it now…it seems that this was shot after some 70’s partying. The Hall and Oates hit “She’s Gone” video looks like it was directed by cocaine and hope. My challenge to you: Watch it the whole way through and try not to laugh.
This is Chuckie. Slightly less threatening as “My Buddy” yet has a worse reputation.
Every single night. From as far back as I can remember. It was not that I was afraid of the dark. I was afraid of the combination of the dark and stuffed animals which would appear to move when the lights went out.
Worse than all the other toys and animals was my “My Buddy” a doll created and sold to children right around the time that the movie “Child’s Play” and it’s lead character Chuckie (A doll whose goal is to kill the soul of a boy that was around my age at the time). I have an older brother who once has “Child’s Play” on the TV when I was young. Thats all it took. The dolls look alike. If you ask me the “My Buddy” which I owned was even a little scarier than the murdering Chuckie. I was horribly afraid of this doll until I cut it’s head off when I was 12…which was followed by nightmares for a while of a headless Buddy coming back for revenge.
I started comedy at The Comedy Store. One of the amazing perks of being part of The Store is being sent down to The Comedy Store La Jolla for amazing gigs and memorable weekends. One of my all-time favorite weekends there was spent with comedian and positivity guru Brody Stevens (The Hangover, The Hangover 2, Due Date, Between two Ferns, Best Damn Sports Show, Chelsea Lately, and from many other things that he would be happy to tell you about). These videos are a glimpse of what it is like to ride “shotgun” for 2 hours with Brody himself as we drive to meet with Sam Tripoli to slay house in La Jolla.
The Unfinished Death Star…like me, appears young and incomplete…but remember, this battle-station is fully operational.
